I thought of that! It's tempting to just keep them forever . . . but really, the point is that they aren't actually good books at all, I just like the memories associated with them. Since I know I can't stop myself from buying more books, I'm trying to be good and only keep the ones that I truly love and will read again. And about half the Dragonlance I have really are incredibly horrible works of literature.
I think you should just use the books as the filler in the edges of your bookcases, that way they are: 1) useful 2)not visible in the important space of the shelves and 3) not thrown away.
Don't part with books unless you really have to. We can even bury them with you so you can read them in the after-life.
