It just hit me all at once that I had been in another country for a week, on another continent, where I speak very little of the language and without my mom, and will be for another three weeks.
I got to talk to my mom on the phone twice and emailed her and am wearing the necklace she put in my purse for good lucky, which is good.
She even called her holistic gurus to ask advice. They said I need to drink Gatorade because my electrolytes are out of whack.
