i'm not sure. it's kind of a different animal. i don't think it's just himself anymore, it sounds like he's got some live strings on here. he also incorporates a lot more of his piano playing. he's tending more toward actual compositions rather than just sonic soundscapes, although he blends them both. definitely reminds me a lot of Max Richter on this one. speaking of him, what do you thing of 'Songs From Before'?

i was actually really let down by it. to me it just felt like he was trying to recapture what he achieved with 'the blue notebooks' without really progressing. i might just be missing something though since pretty much all the reviews of it are very positive.
