It’s too hard to grieve
Chapter two

Bam flipped open his phone not bothering to check the phone number of the caller. “Hello?” asked Bam. There was a short moment of silence before someone replied.
“Bammie, uh it’s Ville…” Ville answered, sounding so…so empty and distant.
“Hey man, it’s been forever since you’ve called. God the last time you called was…umm I think summer of last year. How’ve you been?” Bam said.
“Not so good, Bammie after the band broke up my life went to complete shit…” Ville’s voice trailed off.
“What do you mean?” Bam asked in a voice filled with concern.
“My…my parents got into a car accident and…they died. That same month Jonna left me, guess she figured there’d be no more checks worth thousands of dollars coming my way,” Ville stared to cry. “Bam I…I need help…the pain, nothing works anymore, not the drugs or the booze.” Ville continued to cry.
Bam pulled the hummer off to the side of the road. “Ville…where are you at?”
“I-I’m at the airport…here in West Chester. I didn’t know where else to go, Bam. I…help me…please.”
Bam cut Ville off, “I’ll be there in 5 minutes.” With that he hung up the phone.

*at the airport with Ville*
Ville was outside leaning against the stone wall. It was winter in America, and the snow fell from the sky slowly and carelessly. Ville couldn’t help but cry. He was so alone, so empty. He looked down at his feet and to the few bags at his side. He didn’t bring much with him. Just some clothes, the little money he had left, and all of his little syringes and vials of heroine that he had left. He wiped his eyes and looked back up to the sky. Once again he was lost in his thoughts.

Bam pulled into the parking lot of the airport, which was surprisingly almost empty. Getting out of his car, he began to walk towards the enormous stone building. He scanned the front of the building, and saw Ville. He was slumped on the wall, his hands in his coat pockets. He didn’t even notice Bam walking his way.

It began to snow harder than it had been a couple of minutes ago. Bam shivered as he walked up to Ville, who seemed to not notice. Bam’s eyes grew wide as he gasped when he saw Ville up close. He was so pale, so white. It reminded Bam of what Brad Pitt looked like playing Louis in the movie “Interview with the Vampire”. He was skinny too, his cheek bones sunken in. Ville had always been a really skinny man but now he was disgustingly skinny.

Ville’s hair was longer than it was the last time Bam had seen him. It was just past his shoulders. He wore the infamous black beanie on his head, along with his customary black leather pants that hugged his skin. An old black leather jacket covered his Ramones t-shirt, and a frayed black scarf was tied around his neck.
“Ville…?” Bam stopped in front of him.
Ville glanced up and pushed off the wall. He ran to Bam and threw his arms around the smaller mans neck. He started to cry again. “Bammie I missed you so much.”
