I don't need a locator. I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE YOU LIVE.

I detected my location (out of curiousity) and it said Russian Federation, Moskva (well, the Moskva was in cyrillic but thats just too much hassle). Clearly Russia confuses it, because I am, or I was last time I checked, in St Petersburg.

Also was it you who had been/was going to Nevsky Institute? If so - did you go already and make lots of friends who'd like to be my friends? Noone talks to me...

Sorry ignore that last question - just read in your last entry that you didn't end up going. Never mind. I'm sure they'll talk to me eventually, when I know enough Russian to actually hold a conversation.

Aaw, no, I didn't go in the end; was gutted but just about NOTHING worked out with the visa process. That's sad about people there; are there any other exchange people you know there? Hope it gets better for you! (On the positive side I'm sure your Russian will improve off the scale, a girl from my class went there on the course I was meant to be doing and she's pretty much fluent.)

Haha and I'd rather being told I was that far away from my actual location, kinda uneasy that it knows where I am pretty much to the metre :P. x

Visas are a right pain... luckily I live near London so my dad went into London a couple of times and sorted it all out for me :-) (He was sorting out his and the rest of my family's too as they're coming out to visit me, he doesn't spoil me THAT much :-P)

I know the other girl from Durham (my home uni), and I've met a Spanish girl a couple of times, but shes half Polish so fluent in Russian (she claims her written Russian isn't so good but I don't believe her). And also many Americans, but I only met them last week - they have all their classes together...

Wow I'm impressed shes fluent. I've been here a month and although I've definitely improved, still nowhere near fluency!

Yup, I'm glad LJ doesn't know where I am, but knowing I'm in Russia it kindly turned the homepage Russian for me. And on facebook I get Russian adverts... weird...
