Anyway. BIG NEWS: I just finished writing my first fan-fic ever. I don't know how it's taken this long, but it is now complete. I thought of it the other day while re-watching Changi and had to get it out before

OH MY GOD CHANGI FIC YES

Ever since I watched the show for the first time I felt highly disappointed that it didn't have the fandom it deserved. It's so ripe for further exploration in fic.

Also, this was adorable and touching and I can't quite believe this is the first fic you've ever written. I was particularly impressed with the way you described how music affected Tommy; it's so central to both him and the series itself, and it fits perfectly here. The bittersweet tone of the story as a whole is a lot like the canon, too, and I'm glad it ended on a note of hope (no pun intended).

...now more people have watched it, I'm wondering if there's enough Changi fans around these days to be able to support a comm for it? God knows I'd love to encourage more fic and fanart, not to mention general appreciation, for such a good series.

Thanks! I've written some other stuff before for high school yonks ago, but never written a fanfic before. I think in a way writing fanfic is harder to get the voices of the characters right, and figure out what they would do.

Your stuff is lovely, also, so hearing that from you is gold XD

I'm so pleased to see Changi fic! I agree that the tone is right for the series - that sense of loss and the shadow of the time in Changi over the rest of their lives. I'm very excited to think you may do more of these.
