First off, thanks, because i have fucked up my life/priorities/Internet usage to the point where I was unaware that there was a new Gibson novel even in the pipeline.

Ahem.

Second, that reminds me of a bit from David Eddings' _Belgarath the sorcerer_, wherein he and his daughter commiserate about how difficult it is to get back into one's research after having been out on an adventure.

I always say, i just need one good photograph of the right person. I'm a reasonable man.  (Not really) All I'd ask for is about what I'm making now, without having to work for it.

I assume Amazon et al have good ways for you to "subscribe" to your favorite authors; for some reason I have never used those, and rely on the usual online word-of-mouth, which isn't always as reliable as it should be ( ... )
