Diario Clarín (Argentina's largest newspaper) has just published a note about fanfiction (link in Spanish). It's disquieting; nobody will pay *that much* attention to it, but it's nonetheless a local threshold of sorts, one I wasn't particularly looking forward to.

*sighs*

Well, at least it's not too sensationalist? It's more 'some people write stories about Harry Potter, and they may not be shut-ins!' than 'Perverts raping Potter on the internet!'

Yes, that's true. All in all, it could have been much worse.

reminds me of Iron Man, I winced audibly when the main villain has Stark paralyzed and is monologuing at him.

"You really think that just because you have an idea, it belongs to you?"

Take that copyright activists! now you agree with Mr. Worse-Than-The-Menacing-Terrorists-Obadiah-Stane. Now stop pirating our movies!

Yes, for some reason Tony is usually used against technological openness (well, he *has* made tons out of money out of tech, but I'd like to think that he's an engineer/hacker first, and a businessman second).

you're fooling yourself. He's an inherited wealth- defense contractor. He'll always be Establishment. In older storylines(and a couple new ones) he didn't even design the Iron Man, he just inherited a bunch of weapons projects from dad, and stuck them together. (In one Civil War storyline, it's implied he's got secret engineers doing the heavy lifting, when one of em tries to murder-suicide him, which I thought was cool)

I hate the storyline, but it was obvious which side he was going to be on in Civil War. And protests of characterization aside, there's no way he'd have ever gone over to Cap's side. He's dependent on his wealth, in a way few other superheroes are(even Batman can operate from the street if he has to).

Hrmm. It's possible I'm putting to much weight on myon rather than canon...

Aggh! Working from my personal canon of the guy, this would be a *very* twisted, dark AU.
