I had my first real OB/GYN appointment today, and left feeling very angry. I really dislike Dr. Sargent. He told me the book I was reading that was suggested to me by my regular physician was useless, said that getting my own device so I can listen to my baby's heartbeat at home was useless - Which it SO isn't - It can help ease a worried mind ( Read more... )

I love angry letters. Yours is especially good. Excellent smackdown.

Thanks, I spent an hour writing this... the first one I wrote was very, well... way too emotional, I guess? It was very rude and very snarky, and pretty damn condescending to boot. I figured I should try a "nicer" approach that still got the message across, and this is what I came up with.

That was an awesome letter.

Do you still live around the Melbourne area? If so I think I can recommend a good OBGYN. She is not as interested in the GYN part as she is in the OB part; the lady really likes babies.

I hope you find a good doctor to help you through this, it has to be the most exciting and wonderful and terrifying thing. I know I already told you congratulations, but I'm just so damned happy for you I'll say it again: Congratulations!

Yeah I still live in Melbourne - who is this mysterious and all powerful doctor you speak of? I'd like someone who understands the emotional aspects of babies, not some booksmart prick.

Thank you again for your congratulations... since you dropped me your number, I'll likely give you a call here in the next couple days to let you know the gender and all the fun stuff - plus, like you said, we haven't really seen each other in quite some time, so it'd be nice to catch up!
