I think you should read www.dooce.com from the beginning. It's a website that chronicles a woman's marriage, pregnancy, birth and life with her kid.

Why are you hopeless, love?

Many different reasons, sometimes regarding your brother... sometimes because of my hormones. Sometimes because of the people I know. A now ex-friend of mine is having an affair with a 28 year old woman who has two young children. It kinda makes me feel like there is no one who respects love, commitment, or marriage these days, and the notion of a good love is nothing but a nice fantasy. The romantic in me is near death... and I used to always believe that love would find a way, and some bonds cannot be broken, no matter how stretched they can be at times, and yadda yadda yadda. It really, really depresses me. It makes me think that perhaps being a single mom is the way to go, because no matter what, things will eventually fall apart. Or torn apart by an outside force
