i owuld have voted no, and i don't pay taxes or own a house to have property value part of it is because i fear change, and for me fifth grade was the best year of my life, while hadley was the three worst they would all be on the same campus, crowded into a space tighter than glenbard south, but with even more kids i think they should take the money and build a new school and create a new district or whatever putting the d 41 kids at hadley though...meh
yeah...it just sort of goes to show what a good job of spreading the misinformation the anti-referendum group did. what you wanted was basically the plan, and that's why they needed the money - to build a new building on the hadley property. technically it would be a part of hadley, but for all intents and purposes (with the exception of using the cafeteria, which is really just a money-saving measure) the two campuses would be incredibly independent, and the fifth grade classes would operate just as if they were still in elementary school - with the same teacher for each class, etc., except they'd be in a new building.
well, from what i heard they were going to fire the principal of Hadley because he was rather new and they didn't think he would be able to handle all the kids, even though he used to be the principal of Lincoln and i don't think elementary kids should have to take a bus one of the best things was being able to go home for lunch and quickly and getting to walk to school, so i could be late and it didn't matter, because i could get myself to school in five minutes
-I don't know about the principal thing, but chances are, if you just "heard it," it's probably not true.
Anyways, I think the fact that kids might have to ride a bus is a pretty ridiculous reason to be against a referendum. Especially since I took the bus to school anyways in elementary school.
