1. nah, not every week. usually its either a taks prompt, or over a book you guys are reading. when i was in english ap, i remember we read a lotta books though, like a book a month. or maybe more.
2. dwyer//foerster. hell no. dwyer was great, but she retired mid-way, and we got foerster. he was too cool for school.
Well, it's not a paper. It's a timed writing, meaning, atleast so far, every week we have a new 3 or 4 page article that we analyze for style, structure, language, details, diction, and imagery (AKA DIDLS). We go over a lot of it in class but he expects you to draw your own conclusions in your paper. You get 40 minutes. It's basically exactly what you have to do for the AP test.
Foerester teaches it and I really, really like him. He's a pretty amazing teacher, you have to be if you make things like past participial phrases and gerunds cool.
I really don't have a problem with it, I haven't made a grade lower than about a 97 in there all year. I'm sure you'd do well.
Oh and I think at the end of the year we'll be doing the timed writing without going over it beforehand, that's only to get you into the 'swing' of it. Buttt that's a really small part of the class!
