Someone please explain to me how this works. I've been doing this fucking number thing for the past two hours and I've come to no conclusions. I am simply left confused, annoyed, and severely weirded out.

yes, i know this is rabndom. but i figured i'd explaing the trick: if you pick a number, add and subtract a bunch of stuff, then subtract the original number, you are left with the total of the addition and subtract applied to the original number.
