I went through the same thing with an (ex) friend. It's so much better now.

It's nice not having to think about acting as though all is well between us when really it hasn't been in a loooong time.

I feel for you, then!
Having a "friend" like that can drag you down as well due their thoughtless behaviour. I've found I feel a lot better knowing that I won't have to deal with it any longer.

why keep people around that does not help you develop a better friendship? good thing you dropped your former friend, it's better for you aura. and i'm sorry about your former co-worker. i hate people like that. just quit from the beginning and stop frying your brain to come up with excuses right?

Yes! I never understood why she even bothered sticking around when it was so apparent that she could not care less and everyone knew that she making up excuses not to come in. Ugh, some people!

And you are definately right. When a friendship becomes a burden instead of an actual relationship, it feels good to let it go --- too much negativity came from that "friendship".
