so i'm apart of the elliottsmith community on lj. this was posted a day or so ago:

I didn't like elliot smith's 'figure eight', it sounded like a train wreck, there was only one good song on that entire album.

But I do agree with you, galileo, and the exploitation of raw emotions by us homo sapiens.

Did Elliot Smith hang himself? or stab himself in the heart? i've heard both stories.

ive heard that the stabbing himself in the heart twice story to be more accurate.

but some people also suspect that his girlfriend killed him.

He was stabbed in the heart twice. (I'm friends with some massive elliott smith fans - and i've never heard the hanging story.) His girlfriend totally did it. He was in the middle of an album - why would he kill himself in the middle of an album?

he may not be alive, but the life he lived when he was alive, isnt yours or anyone else's to judge or talk about.
its fine to compare music, but when it comes to comparing other peoples lives, especially one's you know nothing about, you have no right.

dude im just reposting what someone else said... i dont think its right to "judge" (i really don't get where you got we were judging mr smith from) him or anyone else for that matter. i thought the whole comparing suffering thing was stupid. and i was just trying to get a thread going. do forgive.

but if you really wanna jump down someone's throat about this, go to elliottsmith. thats where it came from.

also it might be a bit smarter if you stop hiding behind "anonymous".
