Very nice start, and you've certainly raised a few eyebrows with Cloud's origins! Definitely gotta have to see where this goes. I have questions but they'll probably be answered later anyway, so I'll enjoy them when they happen.

And speaking of that, I always enjoy a sane Sephiroth. His actions here just killed me. xD

Also, I really like how you incorporate bits and pieces of the original game in here. "Promised Lands", "scrapped knees" (an imagery I've always felt to have such a deep sadness), Cloud and Sephiroth being in the same squad... And your Aerith, awesome as always, walks that thin line between ethereality and plain spookiness.
