We're on the downhill slide now.  Alex leaves for Ft. Jackson in 5 little, tiny days.  The last 21 years flew by wa-a-a-a-y too fast, and she is grown and ready to go.  I am in such denial.  She is so ready to go start her Army stint, having waited impatiently for the last four months.  I want to keep her here and just let things keep on the way ( Read more... )

How do I feel about my baby joining the Army?  Depends on what day it is.
I am fully supportive, knowing that this is a great opportunity for her.  A full-time job with benefits, and she will have the GI Bill to pay for school after 3 years.  She'll get to travel and see other countries, meet people and do all kinds of things otherwise not afforded ( Read more... )
