I was never into Voltron but ThunderCats, He-Man, Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles each got my attention. Ninja Turtles only did for a couple of seasons however because I quickly outgrew it because I was like twelve when it first aired. I was more into DuckTales and The Disney Afternoon after they started and dropped the toy cartoons like a brick when they came along.
I was never that into G.I. Joe, hence why I didn't mention it, but I loved everything else! I'm surprised TMNT lasted until 1996 because I stopped watching sometime around the time I got to high school, '94 or '95, probably. So my Turtles love lasted longer than yours.
As for Disney Afternoon...well, that's an entry for another time!
I hated G.I. Joe. I thought it glorified war and that that was in bad taste. Funny, how I never put together that Transformers did the exact same thing. I really shouldn't have grown up in the eighties. I was jealous of kids who grew up in the nineties and all of the great cartoons they were getting.
Another eighties cartoon I loved was Muppet Babies for obvious reasons. That needs a DVD release. I hate rights issues.
G.I. Joe fought terrorists, though, so it's not THAT bad. I'd say it glorified the military more than war. As for Transformers, they're alien robots so it doesn't matter.
I was 8 when the 90's started, so I can kind of claim being a kid then too. The cartoons were much better then, Renaissance Age of Animation and all that. Toys weren't as good (meaning plentiful), though.
I don't know, sometimes I think there's something wrong with me because my life isn't where I thought/hoped/expected it to be. I'll get to the Disney stuff in a future entry!

Yeah, I'll try not to despair, sometimes trying for things you really want means more frustration.
