I'm Very Disappointed

No, I'm not disappointed that Ryan Reynolds will be Hal Jordan. I did want to see him as Wally West, but you know, he'll probably be a good Jordan. I'm not too picky, though, I'm relieved it's not Jack Black, and I would've been interested even if it did go to Justin Timberlake (although I would've liked to see what Chris Pine could do with the ( Read more... )

You know, Nathan Fillion's great and all, but I don't get why people think he should be cast for every single role ever. Maybe I just haven't seen him in enough roles, but I feel like he plays the same character every time, just in a different setting. If he played Green Lantern, I think I'd see him as Nathan Fillion, not Hal Jordan.

Man, I really need to go back and watch Two Guys and a Girl (And a Pizza Place!). I used to love that show, and it's been forever.

I don't get it either, and you're right, he sort of seems to be typecast in the Mal Reynolds/Vigilante role. He was great on Two Guys and a Girl (that show is tough for me to watch because it ended on a cliffhanger. His Caleb was pretty different from his other roles, though.

I don't even remember Fillion being on Two Guys and a Girl...I really need to re-watch.

Definitely, I mean, he was in a ton of episodes, as Sharon's love interest.

I wouldn't want him as Cap either, but he does have his rather...vocal...fans. On the internet, at least.

What about David Boreanaz as Hal? I heard that suggestion somewhere and it intruiged me.

He'd be great. I remember way back (when he was still on Buffy) Wizard said he'd be a perfect Year One Batman, but seeing him in non-Angel capacity and in light of New Frontier, he'd make an even better Hal Jordan.

I don't know, I wouldn't want to see Nathan Fillion as Captain America. For many reasons, but mostly because he's too old for the role ( ... )

I agree. Fillion's a fine actor, and even if he were younger, I don't really see him in the role of Captain America. I guess for superhero stuff, he should stick to voice acting.

The problem with Cap is you need someone scrawny, then go through Operation: Rebirth, then become an athlete. I'm not sure how feasible that is, but hey, Toby Maguire was able to pull off the overnight buff nerd thing. Add to that everything you said, and Cap is one of the toughest males to cast (I say males because for some reason women are impossible to get good actresses for).

The only person I can think of who looks the part is Aaron Eckhart, but he's a bit old. Hey, if Chris Pine can't be GL, maybe he can be Cap.
