My New Years Resolution is to stop charging things, and I'm doing okay so far, but I know I need to cut down on my comic book spending. Now's a perfect time, since both Secret Invasion and Final Crisis (except the Legion of Superheroes tie-in) are done ( Read more... )

Given how complicated some of the time lines were getting, ending may have been the kind thing to do for a lot of things.

That's true especially for the Ultimate books, they lost their unique voice and just became redundant (except Ultimate Spider-Man, which is still good).

Yes, it felt like cutting an arm off when I stopped actively reading books and comic books completely. But looking back on it, it was a smart thing to do compared to what is going on now for me. It's all about finding that right balance with your hard earned dough.

Buying on credit isn't that bad. It is a major way to show banks and the like how financially sound you are. That means, pay on time, every month and usually a few days after the transaction not all the way up to the 25-30 day minimum to avoid extra fees. Trust me, I will have two degrees and a minor in less than 3 months and one is finance. ;)

Oh, I'm glad I'm improving my credit rating, but the problem was basically from last August until Christmas, I was charging more on my cards than I was making payments on them. It's going to take me months to pay them off completely, as I can't do it all at once, and the best way for me to keep me from going through this prolonged cycle is to just not charge anything and pay whatever I can each month.

I wouldn't know the details of your credit card but based on what you said with your buying and paying habit, it wouldn't hurt to call up customer service and discuss this situation because they would adjust certain things like apr to accommodate you. Granted the phone call will take time, they do want to help you pay them any way possible. Not everyone in the finance field are evil except bankers (I'm kidding).
