Umbrella Facility 45, Secured Specimen Observation/Storage Chamber #35

Dec 12, 2005 11:23

After several hours of more tests, Salazar had been shuffled to the high-security room he was contained in between expiriments. He was kept upright by hanging from his arms, seeing that the countless wires and tubes that were connected to his being made it impossible to lie him flat. One of his arms wasn't anything close to resembing the appendage ( Read more... )

*There is a beeping noise as the room's security door unlocks, and then the door is pushed open to reveal the man who had brought all of this on Salazar. Albert Wesker. He was dressed in all black combat fatigues, a tactical vest, and there was a pistol holstered at his side.*

*He steps forward, looking up at the suspended Ramon.*

"Can you hear me?"

*It's not a question of concern, so much as simple curiosity.*

There's no response for a long while. Just the beep and drone of the lab equipment.

Then, slowly, the miserable creature's head is raised, looking at Wesker through a single glassy, yellow eye. His other eye had, unfortunately, been removed to accomodate another tube to be fed into the empty socket. Who knew what purpose it served; all Ramon knew was that is scratched terribly.

There's no real acknowledgement otherwise, outside of the looking up and a few weary blinks. Facial expressions are difficult to read as well since the lower half of Salazar's face was obscured by an oxygen mask of sorts.

"I have good news, Mr. Salazar. The Forced Mutation Stiumli worked out very well. I'm sure you'll be quite pleased to know that we now have a prototype replication of your Master Plagas. It's effects are outstanding so far ( ... )

There's little to no outward reaction to Wesker's taunts and threats, save for the occassional slow blink of his remaining eye. Salazar wishes he had the strength to jerk his head away from Wesker's hold.

There is a brief flutter of fear and panic at the mention of his eventual disposal. Shouldn't death be a reprieve, something to be embraced after all the torment he'd been put through? Maybe even a chance to finally be reunited with Anna? But despite all the aformentioned tempting notions, something sick and terrible still gnawed at his stomach. He didn't want to die. Not yet. And least of all, not like this.

And again, the mention of the rescue. So they hadn't been stopped! At least, not yet. But Wesker apparently was already putting into motion plans and traps to stop them...

There was something to say about the souls of the dead. They wandered. Wandered not just from continent to continent, but it seemed the lucky ones were able to meander from world to world, realm to realm. Like this one, they were able to take a suggested feeling, probably left over from their living days, and use it like a roadmap. Weave in and out of the needed times and worlds to get to the end of the afterworld rainbow ( ... )

Salazar, still in the maximum security containment cell, hung limply from his bonds. There was no use struggling, after all. It only hurt. And even if he could somehow, miraculously, wriggle out of the locks that held him and the tangle of macabre tubes and wires that pierced his body...then what? Wesker had proven many times in the past he does not bluff. If Salazar went too far from this room, he'd most likely find himself shortly lacking a head.

He slipped shut his one good eye and sighed softly from behind his oxygen mask. He didn't want to think anymore. He just wanted to...shut off. Or dwell on better things. Si, that would be nice. Maybe just...revisit more pleasant memories...

He remained motionless, the only sound being that of the hum and chirps of the equipment around him.

So much electrical work. Bah. There was something about the living and technology. Who needed a car when you had two perfectly good legs? Why 'chat on-line' with people that live right down the street? People had become distant, even in medical advancement. Where was the loyal doctor? Where was the caring nurse ( ... )

The clatter jolted him. Not very visably since he was far too weak to react to much of anything. But his remaining eye fluttered open and stared blankly down at the floor for a long while before he slowly brought his head up. Was Wesker back to taunt and belittle him further? Krauser to torture him? Lab techs to come and administer a new battery of tests?

His depth perception was shot, most certainly, what with now lacking one eye, and getting it to focus did some doing....But there was something there he couldn't identify. In fact, the harder he seemed to try and concentrate on it, the harder it was to distinguish. It was something...ethereal? It almost seemed to glow...it was sort of pleasant to look at, really...But what was it...?
