[She paused her soon to be spree to glance downwards at the box, grin faltering for a moment as she took in the image of it. It reminded her of the roses her ex-boyfriend - who she recently found out was, in the future, married to someone with a dorky name and was happy as a clown without her - left her during their first few meetings.

The smile returned in full force, though, as the side of her that felt horribly betrayed begun screaming at her to take everything out on the bearer of bad news who - as far as she could tell - trying to pull exactly the same thing his uncle had.

With surprise force, considering how little and thin her legs were, she raised one platformed foot and brought it down on the chocolates, hard, sending the little red rose of the top flying. She gave the box a few more stomps, until the gift was nothing more than a few brown stains on the ground and a few scattered pieces of red cardboard
