Not that she hadn't grown accustomed to odd happenings, but...

I thought these sort of things were behind me?

Yeah, that.

Rise had come to in what appeared to be a park. All bright and sunny, with a few people scattered around. Nice place really, but the teen idol wasted little time before moving on to wander a bit. It definitely wasn't the ( Read more... )

[ Have a boy in a tophat. Apparently, his guardian (?) is with him, or... something. Some kind of tall very-not-human-feeling-gonna-ping-Kanzeon-like-mad person wearing a cloak and a metal mask. ]

Excuse me, Miss, if you don't mind my asking... but... what kinds of things? Have you been to a place like this before...?

[ Aw, he can't be older than ten. What a polite and cute little boy~ ]

She probably would have "aw'd" at him, but Rise spent the better part of a minute just staring at said guardian. She'd seen worse--far worse--but still! The Persona settled in the deep recesses of her mind was wary.

Ah...

Tearing her gaze away and blinking down at him, she worked a smile onto her face, head shaking. Big sister mode, go!

Don't mind me, just saying weird things to myself.

Are you sure...? I've seen all kinds of weird things, you'd be surprised how normal the strange tends to actually be, Miss.

[ Smiles. ] Sis and I have seen a lot of stuff, so I don't mind. But, if you'd really rather not say, that's okay too. Anyway, if you have been to a place like this, maybe you can find a way out... I'm fairly sure it's another world.

Ah! He reminded her a lot of Nanako-chan. What was it with kids being so mature these days? Urgh. That made her sound like an old woman...

Aaanyway. Sis, huh?

Another world? Say... have you been here very long?

A single figure in the park was out of its element: a thin, aged man sat at a bench overlooking the pond, shifting his cigarette between a middle finger and ringed index. He did nothing conspicuous yet noticeably clashed with the placid atmosphere of the park, if by his frigid quality of his gaze, distant air or his white designer suit, an article likely purchased at some large financial expenditure.

The man inclined his posture as the girl crossed his view. He eased his cigarette to his lips and rather than speaking beckoned at her with two fingers.

Talk about a perfect example of why parents should tell their kids not to talk to strangers. Rise caught the gesture from the corner of her eye and, at least, stopped to see what it was all about. She kept a distance, though.

Huh?

...Rise-chan?

[ he grins wide when he comes close enough to realize that yes, he was right. ]

Man, I can't tell you how great it is to see a familiar face. You're not hurt anywhere, are you? This place can be kinda unpredictable.

!

Rise had probably never looked quite so glad to see him as she did now. She was practically wibbling, but didn't look very worse for wear otherwise.

Yosuke-senpai!

[ oh, rise-chan. you wibble so sweetly. ;;;;; ]

Hey, don't worry so much. Your senpai's here to protect you!

Keep giving him that glittery stare and he might start getting ideas, Rise. All in good-nature, she retorted.

Hey! You would have been totally lost without me all those times before. Who's protecting who?
