By conventional standards, Temari had gone above and beyond 'outrageous' in her outfit for the night. Even she thought so. But as soon as she'd finished "changing" and stepped into the bar that had steadily filled with by far the most outrageous men and women the blonde punk had ever seen (and she'd seen her fair share), she almost felt tame in comparison. Lame.

After a momentary prickling to her pride though, the entire sentiment was entirely shrugged off. So she wasn't the most shocking woman there, at least they'd still all be shocked when they learned that she was a legitimate woman. Consoled, she happily strutted her glossy black stilettos to the bar in quick, sashaying steps, mindful of the micro-short skirt sticking to the tops of her thighs ( ... )

She had no idea what she was doing here. She had just walked though the door and already she was completely overwhelmed by what was going on at Coco’s, it was just too wild. Like something out of a kid’s imagination, well not a kid but an adult that was childlike. She bumped into someone and looked up to apologize but the words just wouldn’t come out. Was that a MAN!? In a MINISKIRT?! Oh God… somewhere in the back of her mind she knew it was a drag bar. Naruto had told her, but she never expected this. This was… it was… well, at least she didn’t stick out like a sore thumb. But, still ( ... )

Haku snaked through the room, cutting through the crowd with a singular kind of focus that would have earned even Zabuza's approval. Sheer chance had allowed him to spot his friend from so far away, and at first he hadn't believed it was her with that hair. The curve of her cheek, however, was unmistakable to him even in this bustling room and creepy light display. He was kind of surprised she'd shown for a night like this, but more than happy to see her here.

The costumes tonight were amazing; Coco was in fine form as usual, and, as usual, in the presence of true drag queens, poor little cross-dressing Haku felt rather unremarkable, like a brown pigeon.

Or a white one, perhaps. His little white dress had looked simply adorable on the rack, but on himself, he couldn't help feeling a little plain, especially with the skin on his bare shoulder almost as white as the gauzy fabric. The droopy rabbit ears, though cute, didn't help with the color scheme, and if his hair hadn't been such a harsh jet black, he couldn't help but think ( ... )

She had managed to make her way past a few more drinking patrons; this was turning out to be way more work than expected. Her heel crunched down on an ice cube and her other on a piece of abc gum among thousands of other unmentionable things, so she figured she shouldn't be too concerned about it. She had paused in her turtle paced approach to the bar and took a breath ready to go all in ( ... )

Haku tutted at Sakura's sudden change of plans. "Well, then let's go say hi!" He smiled through his fake-stern expression, and his arm around her waist gave her a little squeeze as he started leading her towards the bar. His steady pace was now slowed to a kind of a mosey so Sakura would have plenty of time to collect herself. "It won't even take a minute ( ... )

He'd spotted Temari the moment she entered the bar - partly because he was naturally attracted to anything shiny and/or moving, and partly because she always registered like some kind of searing beacon when she was near, like a gong that struck or a blues chord that jangled and kicked through him. Naruto's head was a cacophony of clashing, complimentary sounds at any given time; he wouldn't have worked himself out any other way ( ... )

There wasn't any turning back now, not with the firm grip Haku had on her waist. It would take some tricky manuvering to get away now, which was a good thing she supposed. After all the entire point of coming tonight was to wish Naruto good luck. She nodded her head in agreeent but Haku had already started making his way through the crowd with ease that Sakura knew she would never have. "Mental housekeeping? It sounds a little stressful! You should come over, I've redone my room, it's kinda got this relaxing spa vibe. It'll be fun." Somehow she knew Haku's past wasn't spectacular, and she didn't know any specifics. His past was a bit of a taboo topic, which suited her fine she didn't like seeing her friend upset. There was no reason to make him more upset when she could make him laugh instead.

And then all of a sudden they were at the bar and she was half hidden behind Haku, she noted that Naruto was wearing pants, and then noticed what Haku was staring at. Temari, practically naked. But, Sakura could appreciate the creativity ( ... )

If there was anything that could cure Haku of the blues in an instant, it was having someone else to worry about. Sakura's stammering was just enough to make him shove aside his own problems, at least for the time being. He took a quick sip of his drink, with an 'mmm' to let Naruto know that yes, it was tasty, and yes, he appreciated it, then folded his hands neatly on Sakura's near shoulder, and rested his cheek against a glove.

"A Shirley Temple for this one, here!" Pink and bubbly would suit his friend just fine, he was sure of it, and maybe she'd let him steal a cherry. Fussing over Sakura went a long way towards returning Haku to more solid ground, and when he leaned around her, he was even able to manage a real smile for Temari.

"Hallo there to you, too!" If his greeting for Tem was more subdued than what he'd given Naruto, well, they'd never really been buddy-buddy anyway. And honestly, intimidated though he sometimes was around her, he couldn't bring himself to feel any real ill-will towards the woman.

Temari's smile cooled significantly as she straightened from the bar and turned it towards the new arrivals, though her expression itself didn't change. Her warmth had always been exclusively reserved for her closest circle of friends, and neither Haku nor Sakura even came close to qualifying. Nevertheless, the smile itself remained in place on her painted lips, perfectly pleasant and polite even though her green eyes had iron shutters pulled over them. "Hey," she replied easily but neutrally, acknowledging the pair and the greeting before turning her attention back to Naruto. "Just water for me," she answered, suddenly much less interested in the scotch that would have had her lingering at the bar ( ... )

It was just as well that Naruto had safely delivered both Sakura's Shirley Temple and Tem's water or their glasses would have been merrily tinkling on the floor. A decent kiss had the power to render him paralysed; one of Anko's tended to leave his brains melting out his ears. Tem's lipstick tasted faintly of crayon as he licked his lips with a bemusedly smug expression, propping his chin into a hand that was connected to an elbow that was in turn connected surprisingly soundly with the top of the bar. Naruto had yet to drink anything alcoholic this evening, though admittedly this was in case either of his two favourite roommates decided to challenge him to a drinking competition.

(He probably would have won even with a headstart, anyway, but that was cheating.)

"Heya, darlin'," he purred back, eyes half-lidded as they walked over her outfit for the evening. Only Anko could make something so prim'n'proper look so downright dirty. Naruto definitely approved. "Whatcha drinkin'? 'S'on me!" There was always the chance she'd take ( ... )

Defenses instantly jumped up upon Anko's arrival, Sakura looked at her drink and thought about ignoring Anko's pitiful attempts to try and be a lady. Instead without missing a beat she looked up and smiled so sweetly it made Anko's look like she'd sucked back denatonium and replied just as politely in a voice that was reserved for small children "We just popped in to say hi and I was just leaving." It almost took too much effort to hold back on Inner Sakura's We only popped in to say hi, no need to act like a bitch and get territorial. Going back to ignoring that was simple in comparison. Really, there was no need to be rude. And if Anko missed the memo that she was so not interested and wanted to metaphorically piss on Naruto so it was clear he belonged to her. Then that wasn't Sakura's issue, it was Anko's.

Besides, she'd said hi to Naruto and that was all she came to do. The fact she'd had to witness Anko slobbering all over him was just an awful misfortune. And the fact that Naruto enjoyed it? That made her glad she didn't have ( ... )

Temari's chilly demeanor was met with all the patience (and that was a lot) that Haku could spare. He wasn't sure exactly what she had against him, if anything, but he could certainly appreciate that their respective situations weren't simple enough to sweep under the carpet for the sake of social niceties. He couldn't help looking a little tired, though hadn't he worked on that enough during his sudden trip out of state? He found himself wishing things were as easy now as they had seemed 3,000 miles away.

Anko's arrival stirred up even more mixed thoughts; Haku'd never had strong feelings towards her one way or the other, but... But why did all these women have to look so damned good tonight!? Even Sakura! His sudden urge to pout was sidetracked by the even more sudden realization that Anko plus Sakura plus Naruto could very well equal a whole lot of trouble. He couldn't help shooting a panicked look at his friend. He adored Sakura, he loved her to pieces, really, but sometimes... Sometimes...But he found himself blinking in ( ... )

Kiba had never been into a drag bar before. Or a gay bar, despite all rumours to the contrary. Oh, yes, he knew all about that shit half the male quotient of the dance classes had spread/were spreading behind his back, and the fact that some of it was true or close enough to make no-nevermind just made it worse.

However, all of this was basically irrelevant. He even recognised a few faces, fortunately or unfortunately, from that one gig at the Whiskey. It was debatable as to whether they recognised him or not. although Kiba supposed the point was really moot - in jeans this tight he still racked up a chorus of appreciative wolf-whistles as he positively sashayed, nay, minced, through the door. He grinned back devilishly before remembering which part he was playing for the evening and assumed a mien of downright flabbergasted terror. Brown eyes scanned the packed club and its gaudy decor for his friends. Blondie Naruto was ensconced behind the bar (you could spot the kid a mile away, he postively glowed with some kind of semi- ( ... )

Sakura’s brain reeled and her brow furrowed. Zaku? No, that couldn’t be right. When did Zaku talk to her, let alone call her Sugar-Oh. Oh! “Kiba?” She ventured as she grabbed his arm pulling him away from the speakers that were blasting the music so loud her head felt like exploding. She was positive that Coco (it was Coco right?) didn’t want splattered brains all over everyone. Besides, she needed to get a better look at Zaku… Kiba… Zaku.. KIBA. Kiba looking like Zaku in better light. “That is a pretty fantastic costume~ But, you’re butt is a little too big for those pants, huh?” She smiled that sweet Cheshire smile, attempting and failing to hold back her giggles ( ... )

Tenten hadn't really wanted to go to a Halloween party. But Cole (♥) had been busy, and Queenie and Reggie had to work at their mom's place (boy, could Tenten sympathize). She hadn't seen Naruto and the others outside of class because of practice and work, and this seemed like a good chance to see what everyone was up to. Like as not, they probably wouldn't recognize her anyway. Her hair was pulled under a short, 1920s Pageboy wig, her grey pinstriped skirt had a cut high up the thigh, showing off the tops of her black stockings and grey garters. Tenten adjusted her fedora low over her eyes and caught a glance of herself in her compact before heading inside. Her lips were painted the deepest, darkest red she could find and with a little help from a makeup tutorial she'd found in the library, her eyes were dramatically dark and contacts had made them bright, break-your-heart green, just like the movies stars sixty years previous.

She switched her plastic tommy gun (you could fine anything in the city if you knew where to look) to her ( ... )

Kiba reined in a frown as Sakura gave him half-answers and moved past, then frowned harder as she was accosted by another stranger. A bit of squinting (damn, his eyesight must be going due to old age or something) revealed that the newcomer was, in fact, legitimately female, and a surreptitious step or three closer to the suddenly-stagnant pair brought him close enough to recognise Tenten under that hat. His lips pulled into a happy grin and he continued towards the girls to better greet his friend (and maybe pin Sakura down for a little longer, he sort of felt that he'd been neglecting her lately and it had him itching guiltily in the back of his conscience) and--

--Tenten had a gun. A toy gun, to be sure, but some sixth sense prickled; a quick glance around saw the white 'rabbit' heading in their general direction and recognised it as Haku and, oh, God, Haku plus guns equalled badbadbad. On sudden Damage Control now, Kiba stepped in front of Sakura, winking at her broadly as his hands moved around her waist to grip the tommy ( ... )
