Provided that the president washes her hands before eating (...does she even have time to eat at the Independence Day reception?) or rubbing her eyes or anything, she should be fine. Germs don't enter through unbroken skin. :-)

Hah, I merely used the example as a uselink to a personal POV: I don't care what plague she could possibly contract - I personally don't feel tempted to shake hands with a guy who just has been fingering his john.
