The chemical came so I could finally get on with extracting the DNA. In conclusions, lots of playing with DNA. And next week is PCR. Or as Syren says "making the DNA dance for you

Okay, that's interesting: "Standing on your heels aint normal?" So, should we be standing on toes all the time?!
I don't have an arse either, by the way. I don't think I suffer too much from this state of things. Of course, not having a belly would be preferable, but one can't have it all, can one ;-)?
I'd be grateful for a short explanation of why your "physio" thinks any of this is so problematic. (And whether he/she would find it problematic for a not excessively sporty person, as well.)
ok, I'll try to explain. I stand REALLY passively/defensively. Totally back on my heels. When people say "She rocked back on her heels in shock"... well, I can't do that, if I rocked back any further I'd have to take a step back because I'm already on the point of overbalancing backwards the whole time. My body weight is held about 10 cm behind my heels at all times - I'm only able to not fall over cos I'm holding all that balance on my quads. I don't use my hamstrings/bottom to stand at all

Wow - I really never thought about this... You mean to say other people really can't lift their toes while standing?! Hell, I used to be able to do this on 10 cm heels even, back in the days ;-).
Thanks for explaining! I guess I don't really carry *all* my weight on the heels all the time - otherwise, the balls wouldn't hurt after standing for a day, would they... But it might explain not having an arse, alright :-D.
I never saw this as a problem, and won't start now. My body doesn't get 10% of the strain your poor frame has to take, after all. I just really hope you won't have to regret it bitterly once you're my age...
No, they CAN do lift their toes, that's a thing people with legs should be able to do, but they have to shift their weight backwards first. They can't do it while they're standing normally, without moving their weight a little bit backwards to free up the balls of their feet. I do it without moving
