Feels odd to be a visitor in the old UK

I see that PseudoVirgin/CrossCountry trains are still hideously overcrowded, the vestibules are still thinly carpeted (ow, my butt) and they STILL have that terrible fault in the air-conditioning that pushes the delightful scent from the toilets through the entire train.

However, in other news I am filled to the gunwales with curry (thank you drunken_hedghog)

See this is why Russian Standard is my new favorite vodka. Also, many witnesses will attest to my non-drug-induced numptyism, so what you experienced was simply an amplification. Numptyism is welcome, nay requested, within the D_H household.

I really am so sorry about the sword. I suspect it will turn up in some highly dangerous way soon. It will certainly be coming to DWCon 2012.

Fret not about the sword. After working so hard to make a good impression on your folks, it wouldn't really have done to lop ears and noses off them as a by-product of too enthusiastic wielding of said edged weaponry.

I don't think I ever caught one of those? I caught a cross country, but I had my seat booked and it was actually a very delightful trip. Crowded, I think? But no worse than a Newcastle-Sydney train here and the aircon was much better than ours. :P
