A …what on his head? One brush of his hair told him that he had nothing on his head, much less a nargle. “Go away,” Theodore kept his eyes trained on his book, refusing to play this game with her.
“It’s back,” she said, still standing there.
“It was never there,” he retorted, turning the page in a gesture that said he wanted nothing to do with her.
“Yes, it was,” she insisted. “It moved when you tried to catch it.”
Yeah, because he wanted a nargle, whatever the hell that was. “No, it didn’t.”
“And now it’s back,” she finished. For a crazy girl, she was amazingly adapt at selective hearing.
“Maybe, it just likes me,” Theodore said, eyes no longer moving over the page.
“You don’t want one of them to like you,” Luna nodded importantly.
“You have no idea what I want,” Theodore snapped. That was it. His patience was up. The nutcase had to leave. “Now, please get lost.”
Luna met his gaze when he raised it to glare at her intending on adding effect to his command. “Yeah,” she said softly. “I want my mum back too.”
