So we found out today that we are definitely getting the house we want. All our loan stuff was completely approved this morning. That means we should be able to close within the next couple weeks. Then we'll get the new counter tops installed - we've decided to go with granite so it should look quite fancy in our kitchen. The cost is not going to

Congratulations! On everything! Your life is exactly what I want mine to be.

Granite is definitely the way to go, especially if you ever want to sell it in the future. Everything else is kind of worthless and the next owner would just rip it out and put in granite.

I don't know if you'd like the part where I feel like I'm going to throw up 80% of the day. I've thought multiple times how much you would hate it. Other than that it's pretty great and I do feel really blessed right now. Don't worry, it didn't all happen over night. We've been married for 2.5 years and we had to rent for a long time and no matter how much I wanted we couldn't start trying to have a baby because we weren't financially ready.

That's what we decided to just pay the extra and get granite. The brand we're getting from Home Depot comes with a life time guarantee that it never needs to be sealed which will take the work out of it. And a 15 year warranty against scratching, staining or cracking.
