He couldn’t say sorry. He had insisted for so long that he was right, that Hammond was just over reacting. In fact James did recognise that he shouldn’t have said those things, but his pride was getting in the way. How could he say that he was sorry after all this time and he had insisted so strongly? He knew that he should, he had already lost Richard as a lover, and was very close to losing him as a friend, since the old argument had blown up again. Richard had just unveiled his new boyfriend, The Stig. James had made a few comments voicing his displeasure. Richard had shot back and said if he had just apologized they would still be together. It had cut deep into James’ soul.
How could James give an apology now?
