Woop! I am downloading!

I like the daisies, it is very Spring-esque!

Happy almost Spring to you too :D

Thank you! I am enjoying the springiness of my new format. (That doesn't sound quite right. Oh, well!) For once, Spring started when the calendar says it should - a rare occurance. We seem to have escaped winter's evil clutches early this year (I shouldn't say that too loud - a blizzard in April is still a distinct possibility!)

minus 30?! where do you live then? :D

I was doubting to pic that lay out for myself, but the daisy kept distracting me.. Did you also notice that it's a shirt you see? :D I love it!

YAY for SPRING!

In the week and a half that it's taken me to actually reply (I'm a bad, pathetic communicator!), the temperature has risen to plus 14!

As for location, I live in Saskatchewan, in the middle of the frozen prairie. Although, as I said, not as frozen as sometimes. I still expect one more big snowstorm before winter is done with us. We had a snowstorm in late June once that I recall, so anything is possible.

Good guess - Saskatchewan (meaning "swiftly flowing river") comes from the Cree language, and Cree is from the same language group (Algonquin) that Pocahontas would have spoken, although she was from a lot further east and a bit more south. I sound like a linguistics lesson, don't I?

Saskatchewan is one of the prairie provinces in Canada (the flat bit in the middle of the country).

So that explains the cold. But like I said, we seem to be having a mild spring, which I am very much enjoying.

Ah those daisies. You'd want to crawl in that shirt to get to them ;-)

Anyway, yeah to the podbook. Already downloaded it. I just wished I could listen to it in one go but 27 hours?!

Nevertheless, what an achievement! You can be proud of yourself!

Yeah, I love those daisies (although I'm not sure I've entirely adapted to my new page format yet - still reserving judgement!).

Re: length of podbook. Yeah, 27 hours is a bit much for a single session. I was a bit blown away when I realized just how long it was. This would be one of those things that I probably would have been too intimidated to do if I'd actually thought it through beforehand. This is why impetuous, Gryffindorish leaping-without-looking is sometimes a good thing!

I can't believe you have managed to get through such an epic story, and very, very grateful!

You do their voices so well, and consistently which I've always found to be a challenge when reading bedtime stories to my wee niece ;-)

I don't suppose once you've finished with saras_girl back catalogue, that you would be interested in recs? It's just I was re-reading Secrets by Vorabiza the other day, and was wishing that there was a podfic version of it. And then I started dreaming abouthow fabulous it would be if you did... *dissolves into fangirly blushes*

Right, now I'm off to download the podbook, having deleted the individual chapters yesterday... and I can't be without Foundations for too long!

Sorry for intruding, but... can we start an online petition or something like that? I asked 6shotamericano for the very same thing a few months ago... ;-))))
And believe me, having "Secrets" in podfic format is something I'm wishig for since I discovered what podfics were. It's a huge story, granted, but I love it to pieces!

Sorry again, but wehn I read you comment I just couldn't stop myself... XD

Secrets and The Price of Valour by Weasleywench... that would be heaven in audio form!

Maybe lots of begging and offers of cake?

Thank you for the lovely comment(s)! My deepest apologies for failing to respond to them in anything resembling a timely manner!

I'm glad you have enjoyed the recordings, and I appreciate the suggestions of other works that would be worth recording. And cake is always a good bribe! I'm definitely interested in recording some other writers (once I've caught up with saras_girl's back catalogue!). At the rate I've been going, it could be a while, though!

I'm not sure that I've read Secrets or The Price of Valour, but I will definitely have a look at them. I have some very odd ideas about what I think I can read successfully, and there are some excellent stories out there that I just don't click with, but I'm always happy to get suggestions. Even if it's not something I would be comfortable recording, anything that generates such enthusiasm is sure to be a good read!
