Ok, so it's like this...

I'm woefully behind on recording the next chapter of Foundations (only done Part the First), and I will be essentially living at work for the next week to 10 days (need to install a cot in the file room, I reckon) and thus will not be doing any recording until after that ( Read more... )

Hey,

Sorry r/l is being such a pain at the moment. I've been horribly distracted writing the oneshot that ate my life, but when I finished and the dust settled, I began to worry about you! Was going to email you, god only knows why it didn't occur to me to check your journal *eyeroll*

Anyway. Don't forget to breathe, drink lots of coffee and do your best not to spill any blood :) You work too hard, y/y?

Looking forward to more Foundations when you have a gap in your schedule :D N x

Don't ever apologize for being distracted by writing fic. I know I haven't commented on your page, but I did read your one-shot (and I'm using the term "one-shot" rather loosely here) and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. I don't have the mental fortitude to come up with coherent comments right now, but I just have to tell you that I was having a truly crappy day, and I came home and found that you had posted this wonderful story and it just made everything better ( ... )

Just want to say I just finished uploading both Reparations and Foundations to my iPod. Yay! I used them to learn how to do it and managed to not be my usual techie idiot. All are on and working perfectly. Great job!!

Excellent! I am a bit of a techie idiot myself, so I empathize. I'm glad you've got the fics and that you're enjoying them, and thanks for the feedback!

Hey! I was just wondering, what do you use to record? Because the sound quality is unusually good and I'm jealous. :)

I'm very pleased to hear that you find the sound quality good - I'm constantly noticing all the flaws, 'cause that's just how I am.

I'm not really very high tech. I'm using Garage band, which came with my Macbook. It's got a selection for female voice for podcasts, and I just use that - no special settings or anything. I would like to have a tool that helps me get rid of some of the breathing and popping sounds, but I think I'd have to start using a different recording package, and I'm resistant to learning new technology if I don't have to.

I bought myself a decent headset/microphone rig, which helps, I think (cost me around $70 or $80 Canadian).

And that's it. There's nothing else. Oh, I live on a quiet street and have a pretty quiet house (although the cats occasionally try to contribute). I think that helps as well.

I don't know if that helps, but that's the whole story.

Thanks! I'm studying pronunciation and intonation and the likes in uni, and it's really gotten me to want to try recording some podfics... I just might try.
