I, LEGEND

Went to watch this one, mainly out of pure curiosity given the story, and of course the TDK trailer.

The reaction toward the opening of the trailer carried one or two people at the beggining saying "oh, Batman" and what have you. The reaction afterwards was fairly quite. It didn't get much of a reaction, except the same people that reacted at the  ( Read more... )

...Hilarious?

Isn't the novel to be based on horror, or something?

The book seems to be poking fun at the Horror and Sci Fi genres. :D The two movies based on the book are horror/sci fi.
I Am Legend seems to be following the trend of horror/action movies that take the premise: The last man on earth must find a cure to a disease to which he is immune.

Either way I hope I get to see the movie. :D

Hey, I just came across your journal and I'm very interested in your Batman analysis and such - that kind of thing fascinates me. So I friended you, hope you don't mind. :)

I just saw I Am Legend as well and wasn't expecting it to be a zombie/vampire/whatever-they-are thriller, but wound up enjoying it quite a bit, especially the theme of sacrifice and the beautiful wasteland shots of New York with Will wandering through them. Had no idea it was based on a novel though; maybe I'll go find it in the library.

Hi. :)

I enjoyed it quite a bit, but yes, I was a little dissapointed in the manner the conflict came towards its resolution. A little out of left field, I would say.

Something that I think should be pointed out though, is that a lot of stuff from today (Silent Hill, 28 Days Later, etc) seems to be influenced by the novel; yet I've heard some criticisms about the film copying elements from them, which could be a misconception considering a lot of creators have taken elements from the novel into their films.

I've heard the novel is great, but the film does seem to distinguish itself from it in a lot of parts.

hummm, the storyline sounds a little familiar.

I work at a cinema complex, so as you can guess, everytime I was on Floor I would try and time my screen checks to be during the batman ads.

Needless to say I was rarely on time, I've seen it about two times on the screen, and millions on the net.
I wont say how many times I've seen the first six minutes though.
