Junker Bikes Recycled for PSAs

This summer I started seeing on my way to work old, junked bicycles, painted entirely white, at various intersections. Each one bore a sign saying, "A cyclist was struck here." Turns out it was a project by an advocacy group, GhostCycle.org, to raise awareness for drivers and cyclists alike of dangerous locations for bicycling in Seattle ( Read more... )

Wow, didn't you ever attach playing cards to your bike when you were a kid? If you position them so that one end extends into the spokes, when you rode they would flap back and forth along the spokes and make your bike sound like a badass motorcycle.

Surprisingly enough, I've had less of a problem with that riding to work here than in Seattle, even though the number of phone drones per capita is considerably higher. Not sure what to make of that, but I am fairly confident it is related to the smaller number of (1) SUVs and (2) yuppies in our part of Cleveland. Y'know, I'm learning to really hate yuppies....
