Thanks SO MUCH Eva for posting your experience with the Canadian "socialist" health care. I find it so frustrating that one of the arguments the anti-universal-coverage people make is that somehow ensuring coverage for everybody, including those who are sick, and not (or marginally) able to hold a job, is a bad thing. The "well, if they can get this money for rent and stuff just lying around, they're not going to go back to work" argument. In this country, once your health gets to the point where you are unable to work enough to have a job that has employer coverage, you either go on disability to get coverage or are out of luck. I am so tired of them saying that sick people are somehow lazy or not trying, that they wouldn't work and contribute to society if they had the chance

I'm glad you posted that about the healthcare system. I'm getting really sick of people here going, "why should I pay for other people because they're sick and lazy". I get so frustrated and upset, I've just had to stop trying to reason with these people when I come across them. Keep fighting, you'll get through this. Love, Amanda
Hugs girl :) I was thinking of you some when I wrote that and what we talked about when you were here. I use you as an example to a lot of US cystics here who are convinced that they will somehow just die right away under a socialized medical program... it's insane.
