Yeah, that’s what they would say. I have stopped believing in chance and coincidence. I did not just happen to stumble across these people. Oh no, quite the contrary - I was supposed to ‘discover them’. Only that I did not discover them; this so-called self-help group for loss victims with the lost one missing was designed for the sole purpose of luring me into their midst. So that I might share.
The thing is, they don’t know where he is. Neither do I, for that matter, and I suppose they have finally accepted that as a fact. But you never know, he might get in touch. And if he does, they want to be the first ones to know.
I will join them, though. I know what they are, and by listening to them, by watching them watch me I hope to find out more about what is going on.
Because the truth is, I am in the middle of something big and I have no idea what it is.
