Wow - "multilayered" is such a beautiful compliment. Thank you for that, and for liking. I had such a hard time writing this fic, so I'm really happy it came out okay.
Very thought-provoking! I feel like I have to read it again to gain a deeper understanding. And, about Diego's repressed memory, I have my suspicions, but is it supposed to be obvious who he's talking about? Or is it a mystery?
(Sorry about the late read. I have free time during the holidays, so I came to Cornerflag which has the best authors ♥)
First of all, it's very nice to get a comment on this fic now, even though it was posted already a while ago. I always love fic comments, so there's no need to apologize for being late. Also, I love comments like this - so warm and lovely. THANK YOU!
As for the mystery character... can I ask who you saw there? There are really no hints in the story, so I think there are a few possibilities. I did have a certain person in mind, though. Will tell you, but only after you tell me your suspicions, okay?
I had a gut feeling, but here are the clues I got: -In your story, I read that Forlan had spent some time in Argentina, -I understood from the story that Uruguay's match against Argentina was on the next day (the day after this meeting is set), -Lugano said He's here,
First, sorry for being slow with answering this. I meant to do it right away, but then the comment scrolled off my inbox and I forgot. I only saw it again now because I was looking at my formatting for old fics now that it's almost time to submit another one.
Anyway, you're even more evil than me, as I actually thought of only the players as possibilities for the person in the memory. If so, the ones who have played with Forlán AND were present for the match in question were either Verón or Heinze... and my idea for the person in the memory was definitely Heinze.

(Such warm words. ♥. I'm afraid the fretting is part of the whole Cornerflag experience, though, so I'll be doing the same thing next year, too...:)
