Well, I know pretty much next to nothing about any of these people, but somehow, that didn't matter. You have such an effortless, dry sense of humour that is biting without being cutting, that makes everything you write thoroughly enjoyable. Of course, it seems that the insanity was already there to begin with with these fellows, but you paint them so warmly that their madness seems irrelevant. *g*

[I loved Radoi's shouting, it made me snigger every time.]

Thank you for putting so much effort into this - it is definitely one that I will come back to and read again, as there is so much here I can't really absorb it all in the one go.

Oh, god, the insanity! *Moans* I didn't really have to do any plotting as such; once I'd started my research I spent the whole time screaming "HE DID WHAT?!" and the fic wrote itself... Becali is of course completely irredeemable and should be shot. I'd like to think Radoi was sane, but what with his million rules and regulations and shouting at journalists to stop smoking (that part is completely true, as if you couldn't guess), he does come across as a bit potty. XD

Oh, thank you for offering to read it again! That's the only way anyone'll understand it, I think. ;D And by heck, you're reading a lot faster than I am. *Runs back to the other fics and gets reviewing*

Wow. I couldn't tell you who these two were if I saw them walking down the street but you've gone and written them so well and yet it's your own style and twist on it which makes it work and makes it even better. I'm rubbish at commenting, I'm terribly sorry, but this is such a good fic.

That's fine, you're welcome. XD And thanks very much. And AAARGH AAARGH HAGI IS A LEGEND DX THE MARADONA OF THE CARPATHIANS!! 1994 World Cup!... Oh, well, never mind. Not everyone's obsessed with Romania... And thank you for ploughing all your way through, I really appreciate it. <3

You know, people have won Booker Prizes for writing stuff like this. I don't know if you've read Tibor Fischer's Under the Frog, but there are parallels between the insanely high standard of writing and the gullet-regurgigating laughter he achieves in that book, and you do here. You deserve international fame and a house with an infinity swimming pool at least for writing something so humungous and so perfectly pitched all throughout. It was funny as all hell, and depressing, and the characters are amazingly well-written, with their crazy inner lives meshing with the utter chaos of life in Steaua and Romanian football under Gigi Becali. Gigi himself was a caricature, of course, as he always seems to be in RL but you wrote him fantastically: even as he makes you squirm with discomfort, you want to laugh at the incredible fact that such a man exists ( ... )

Ah, now this is the kind of comment I was hoping for ¦D Thank you so much, it makes all the graft worthwhile.

I thought I'd have trouble connecting with Hagi, but in fact it was surprisingly easy; he was so horribly maimed at Steaua it's kind of impossible NOT to empathise with him. As for Becali... DX As soon as the research got underway the plot wrote itself. I spent the whole time squealing "NO! He has paintings of himself as Jesus Christ... He talks to his SHEEP?!" a caricature, of course, as he always seems to be in RL SPOT ON.

I really hope the scenario here represents the crappier end of Romanian football DX I don't know any other owners as bad as Becali, and I'm really hoping we're moving in a positive direction. *Sigh*

Thanks again, Nol, I'm well chuffed that so many people slogged their way through it!
