I find the scent of forced steamed air very comforting--it's like living in a teapot.

Yeah, but that first time of the winter, where it smells sort of burnt and stale -- that's what's yucky.
Better that than wake up with frostbite, though!

Oh, well, no one likes burnt and stale tea.

My landlord replaced my radiators with electric heat in the spring. This is OK because they would sound as if a man in the basement was hitting the pipes with a baseball bat when they turned on.

Mine are generally quiet, although sometimes they sound like they're hissing. Sort of like angry cats. Either that or spitting.

But they're not.
