the Autobiography of Malcolm X co-written by Alex Haley (of Roots fame) is a book I reread every few years and a good example of Malcolm life and thinking.

I strongly recommend reading Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention by Manning Marable after reading Autobiography of Malcolm X, as the Marable book provides a lot of fascinating context and additional information. I find the two books in dialogue together to be really interesting.
