Books 1-3, Atul Gawande

Hi, everyone! I've been lurking here for a bit, browsing reviews and recommendations -- so many things to explore! To start this off, I got a bunch of books from the library all at once, and have been reading them over the past three weeks or so. I love Gawande; I would read him on ANYTHING, but I guess being a world-famous surgeon kind of means he has limited time to write books!

I should reread Complications and Better.

He's wonderful, isn't he? I'm still trying to find a concise way of describing what's so delightful in his writing, but I seem to always come back to "you really just need to read him; I guarantee you won't regret it!"

I think it's a combination of his care for people and his insight, but that sounds so flat, doesn't it? Yeah, he's just awesome.
