I think Penelope will be next as well, perhaps with a romantic spy adventure set in India? And how convenient that Robert and Charlotte will also be there to join in the fun, and so we get more of them! :)
I thought that too! It will be fun to have Robert and Charlotte along for the ride! I enjoyed them almost as much as Henrietta and Miles. Though I do wonder: Penelope got married, didn't she? I read the book so fast I'm almost questioning my memory now. But I wonder how that will all get worked into the story. I'm stuck now buying these in hardback as soon as they come out, I can't wait!
I think she did get married, yeah, or was at least engaged. So my guess would be that he turns out to be a better match than she thought, or dies very early in the novel, or turns out to be the villain (and again dies by the end leaving her free to marry whoever her true love is!)
Another thing about these novels, I was discussing this with someone here when I read the Crimson Petal last year (I think Angela)... but I have this theory that Turnip Fitzhugh is the real Black Tulip. I think everyone else they have given credit to have turned out to be red herrings, right? Plus, it likely has to be someone who has popped up at least briefly in all the books. Plus, Turnip/Tulip! What do you think?
Hey, I think you might be on to something! It does seem like Turnip is often dismissed as a fop but he's ALWAYS there. In many ways he might be the perfect spy. Underrated and generally ignored and thought to be harmless. Very interesting theory!
