I have...diverse...taste in reading, and I end up reading a lot of stuff for my professional life. I usually update two books at a time, but I got waaaay behind this spring. I also talk about alot of this stuff in my LJ so surf by if you feel so moved :)

Yeah, it was awesome. It makes me want to do some further research that builds on it -- there is so much more out there that's available now, like the GLBT and Women's Archives. *ponders*

Dance of the Dissident Daughter was life altering for me. When I read it I had started to think about leaving church behind forever, and she gave me the courage to do so. From hearing her speak, however, I don't get the impression she'd be happy to hear that.

Still meant a lot, and I agree that her novels are so much more meaningful in the context of her own spiritual journey.
