I decided to wrap up the poll that I posted here, which was asking for your best read of 2007. While I was tempted to post a shaming-list of the 20% of people who were apparently incapable of following the (I thought) very simple Title: Author instructions, I'll just go ahead with the results instead. ;)

I know! I loved that book, but didn't vote for it because I think I read it in 2006 (I voted for Special Topics in Calamity Physics for this year). I sort of consider it the real winner because (heresy coming...be warned!!) although I've read the whole Harry Potter series, I don't think they come close to being the best books I've ever read. The HP series came in at the top of the all-time best books poll I did last year when the community was in the LJ spotlight, and I wondered even then where they'd rank after a few years have passed and the hubbub died down. It'll be interesting to see, now that the series is over. :)
