OK, then! Time for a poll!

Jan 05, 2007 18:04

Well. In the first 24 hours that we've been in the spotlight, we've acquired over 750 new members and have logged 380 posts. I know that this is putting a strain on the FLs of our faithful members, so I'm asking for some patience for the duration of the spotlight. I'm sure things will settle down eventually.

Since we're currently experiencing such high volume, I thought that I'd take advantage and set up a poll. I hope to compile the results and add the results to our sidebar links with the title "Members of 50bookchallenge recommend...". This will give us a handy place to point new members who are looking for suggestions from the community on what to read. As such, I'd like everyone to vote in the following poll.

I will be weighting the responses by how you rank them, so choose your order carefully! What this means to you is that if you vote for Book A as #1, I will assign it as 5 points, Book B as #2 will get 4 points, etc. Thus, books that get voted for often but in the lower ranks may not ultimately rank in the top 20.

I'll leave voting open for several days, and since posts are scrolling off of the front page, I'll link to the voting post in the community info and in the sidebar. I will probably also mention it every time I post to the community, so I hope you don't get tired of me. ;)

Remember...rank matters! And, considering I'll be the one compiling the results and I expect it to be rather arduous depending on how many people respond, please include both the BOOK TITLE and AUTHOR. Yes, even if you think it's one of those books that everyone knows and it should be obvious (unless you're nominating the Bible, in which case I'm not sure what to tell you. :D)
