Black History Month Reads

So far this year I've mostly been focusing on reading books that I plan to pass on to other people during Black History Month. The books I've read so far for this challenge are:
1. The Great Cake Mystery by Alexander McCall Smith (children's book)
2. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas (Young Adult)

I loved The Hate U Give; the film was also good, watched on a plane just after finishing the book. At the end, I had to flick back through the book - they added a scene which definitely wasn't in the novel at all.

That sometimes bugs me. I read 13 Reasons Why, then watched the TV series and they added a bunch of scenes that weren't in the book. Felt like a different story.
