I've been looking over this community for a few days now and finally decided to just join. I'm not in the best situation right now, living with my sister until we can find a home, and most of my books are in storage, but I do have a stack of books with me and some ebooks.

I'm a pretty eclectic reader, but overall, I read mostly fantasy, sci-fi and mystery.

Title: Christina's Ghost
Author: Betty Ren Wright
Genre: Young Adult
Themes: ghosts, supernatural, getting along
Book details: Paperback, 105 pages
Amazon: here
Book Summary: Christina is looking forward to spending part of the summer with her grandmother while her parents are away. So when Grandma gets sick and Christina must stay with her grumpy Uncle Ralph, she is miserable. She dreads the long days in the spooky, isolated Victorian mansion where he's housesitting, especially since Uncle Ralph dislikes her and there are no children nearby to play with. Things change, however, when she sees the ghostly figure of a small, sad boy who mysteriously disappears before she can talk to him. Convinced that he's a ghost, Christina sets out to discover why he's there. Could he be linked to the murders that happened in the house thirty years before? And what evil, chilling presence is lurking in the attic--an evil so pervasive that even Uncle Ralph begins to ghost hunt.

Rating: 5/5

My Review:

I've had this book since Elementary school! I found it in the hallways all trampled on (back cover got ripped off), and by the time I found out whose it was, it was too late to return it.

This was an enjoyable, if short read. It says something that I remembered pieces from this book after all this time. I like how Christina and her Uncle Ralph's relationship was resolved, the story behind the ghosts, and the bit of depth to the characters. If I was going to have a kid, this would be in their collection.
