Piles of Books Challenge

Jun 22, 2011 00:01

Some of you know (if you follow my personal journal) that I plan on opening a used book store next year so when I say that I have piles of books around my computer desk, I am not lying. Not at all. I can't see my kitchen table for the piles on it. They say you need to have 10,000 books to start a decent used book store and I'm a good part of the way.

So I've gone through the piles and picked out some random books for this challenge. Some of the prompts are random lines and others are cover art.

Here is the challenge.

Step One: Pick a prompt that speaks to you.
Step Two: Write a story (more than 100 words and less than 10,000 words)
Step Three: Post the story. If you want to post it to this community, please do so. If you'd rather post it elsewhere, please link to the community and PLEASE keep the post unlocked. Please remember to use an appropriate header AND tags.
Step Four: Go back to Step One.

It's that simple!

Other particulars for this challenge:
...This challenge will end on August 15th.
...Everyone who writes ONE story will get a PARTICIPATION pretty and everyone who writes FIVE stories will get an EXCEPTIONAL pretty.
...HAVE FUN!
