There is a fucking awesome word: «обмедненный»! Our admin brought it from somewhere in the server-room today. E.g. «обмедненные искробезопасные инструменты». One should never pronounce it aloud or else devil would be called up. «Обмеднители обмедняли-обмедняли да не обмеднили». Russian organs of articulation refuse that.

no, 'a' is correct. When we speak about server-room, we should point to it as an abstract class 'room' and after that we can use 'the' pointing to this concrete object.

Second of all - if you say "from somewhere in a server-room" it's absolutely noncence because you refer to a place (even non specifying it directly) in an abstract entity. "From some abstract place which exists in any server room". Noncence. Reads like your admin retrieved it from a void. You can say "from a server-room" specifying that he have found it somewhere in some server-room, but "from somewhere in the server-room" must always be "the" and refer to someplace in some room (even if you have many in your office, just place in one of them, but definitely in a room which is "server-room").
