It gives a lot more depth to the Peter/Sylar thing. And while Sylar saying "I'm sorry" isn't enough, I can totally see him saying it, trying to find something that *was* enough. I liked that they let Peter blow him off and dismiss him as the worthless person Sylar really was. Repeatedly. At the end, all Peter really acknowledged was, "Yeah, you're a human being. I see that now." Though his sticking up for him and allowing Sylar any significant degree of freedom afterwards was a bit weird.
My own AU/fanfic diverges at The Fifth Stage, so I don't deal with Wall dilemmas.
